Salinity Meter
This is a great tool for when you need to add salt to your pond or aquarium. It is the most accurate meter I have found and I use mine all the time in my own pond and my retail sales tanks. It is fast and easy to use. Just dip it in the water and read the reading on the digital display. Automatic temperature compensation from 1-50*C. Reads salt level all the way to 10.0ppt. Uses 4x 1.5v button cell battery. And it has an automatic shut off if you forget to turn it off to save on the battery. This item is a must if you have a pond or aquarium and need to add salt. Unit comes with plastic case and instructions. Note for what you spend in test kits that do not last forever, and have to be replaced each spring, this tester is a real bargain. $85.00
pH Meter
This is a great tool for when you need to test your pond or aquarium pH. It is a fast and accurate meter. What you save in buying drop type test kits will more than pay for this meter! And those type kits are not usually very accurate. AND you will never have to ask your spouse which color is the closest like you do with drop type kits! I use mine all the time in my own pond and my retail sales tanks. It is fast and easy to use. Just dip it in the pond or aquarium and read the reading on the digital display in just a few seconds. Operating Range 0 - 14.0 pH,Resolution 0.1 pH,Accuracy +/- 0.2 ph,Calibration One point @ 7.0 pH, Battery Type 4 x 1.5 volt button cell alkaline, Battery Life 300 hours, Calibration Solution Included. $75.00
MEDICATED FOOD
This food is great to use at the end of the feeding season prior to winter and then again in the spring as the fish are waking up. I recommend keeping this on hand for those times when the fish are sick too! Three active ingredients ensure rapid recovery. They are: Romet (Ormetoprim & Sulfadimethoxine), Kanamycin and Oxolinic Acid.

My Personal Experience:
The Koi clay that I am selling does indeed kill string
algae. I have not ever had too much of a problem with string algae because
my fish keep it chewed down. And I have had reports from others that it
did kill string algae. I want to give you first hand experience now.
We are in the middle of spawning our koi (May 2002) and one of my fry
tanks had massive amounts of string algae. I would normally not be too
concerned about it because the fry will eat the string algae. But the
amount that we had was massive, almost 12 inches long and I was worried that the
fry would get tangled in it and die.
I did have to use about 6 times the recommended dosage (it is safe
no matter what the dosage is that you use) and in a couple of days the string
algae did die off.
The dosage rate is only 1 tablespoon per 1,000 gallons. Using more than
that rate will turn the water gray. And my water did turn gray but cleared
up the next day and then the string algae did begin to die off. Three days
later it was all dead and we vacuumed it up off the bottom of the tank.
Water quality is the most important factor in a Koi pond or water garden. Koi, goldfish, and other aquatic life can survive in less than ideal conditions. One thing Koi keepers can do to help their fish thrive instead of survive is to make sure that the minerals and trace elements found in natural ponds are in the water in their koi ponds and water gardens. In almost all cases, the water used to fill our beautiful ponds is deficient in most of the minerals and trace elements needed to allow our Koi and goldfish to reach their maximum potential. What little minerals you have in your pond water are quickly absorbed by the fish, plants, and even the bacteria that colonize your filters. Unfortunately, most of the water used for our ponds comes from the tap, which is a poor substitute for providing a healthy aquatic environment for your fish. Minerals and trace elements are necessary for the optimum health and development of our fish. The only way those minerals can be replaced or introduced is through water changes and additives. The highest quality Koi in the world are raised in mud bottom ponds. Even the top koi breeders have to add fresh clay to their ponds to replace the minerals and trace elements needed to raise these incredible living jewels.
The leading Koi experts in the world agree that the clay that contains the most minerals and trace elements is bentonite / montmorillonite clay. There is very little, if any bentonite clay in our yards and gardens. This type of clay was formed millions of years ago, and has to be mined and processed to a consistency that will allow you to add it to your pond. Even though there are mines in several places around the world, not all bentonite clays contain the same level of minerals. That is why I spent the time and effort researching to find the best source to make sure our clay is high in the needed minerals for your fish. You can be assured that "KOI CLAY" has been laboratory tested to confirm it will provide the proper minerals for your fish when used according to our dosing instructions. Try it and you will see the difference in your water, your fish and your pond.
"KOI CLAY" contains a balance of minerals in their natural colloidal form, making them easily assimilated. The minerals present in "KOI CLAY" enhance the production of enzymes in all living organisms, improve water quality, and removes toxins from the pond water.
HOW "KOI CLAY" REMOVES TOXINS
The best explanation I've seen on how calcium bentonite clay removes toxins comes from clay expert Ran Knishinsky.
"Technically, the clay first adsorbs toxins (heavy metals, free radicals, pesticides), attracting them to its extensive surface area where they adhere like flies to sticky paper; then it absorbs the toxins, taking them in the way a sponge mops up a kitchen counter mess."
When the toxins are adsorbed and absorbed by the clay they can then be filtered out of the pond via your mechanical filter.
FOR KOI PONDS AND WATER GARDENS
Use one level tablespoon of "KOI CLAY" for each 1,000 gallons (US) of water every other day for the first two weeks. Beginning the third week only dose one or two days per week. You can dissolve "KOI CLAY" into a container of pond water and pour it evenly around the pond, or make it into a mud ball and lay it in a gently flowing stream of water so it dissolves slowly.
The minerals contained in "KOI CLAY" are beneficial to all living things. They benefit your plants and fish, as well as the bacteria living in your filters. "KOI CLAY" will remove toxins (heavy metals, free radicals, and pesticides). "KOI CLAY" literally attracts these elements like a magnet and then sucks them up like a sponge. This causes the entire "mess" to settle so it can be removed by a good mechanical filter, or screened out manually. All this improves water clarity and quality.
ADDING "KOI CLAY" TO THE FISH FOOD
"KOI CLAY" can be sprinkled on moistened fish food pellets or added to homemade paste foods. If you moisten the pellets you can also put them into a plastic bag containing "KOI CLAY" and shake it so the clay powder evenly covers the moist pellets. Spread them out onto a cookie sheet to dry and you can feed them later. Feeding your koi and goldfish calcium bentonite clay aids in their digestion as well as removing toxins from their bodies. By improving your fish's digestion it decreases the amount of waste they produce which in turn reduces the load on your filter thus improving water quality.
VISIBLE BENEFITS TO YOUR FISH
Within two or three weeks you will see an improvement in your water as well as the skin quality of your koi and goldfish. The colors will be more vivid, and the white ground brighter. Your fish will show increased appetites and vigor.
BENEFITS TO PLANTS
"KOI CLAY" can be added to your potting soil or garden dirt. You can sprinkle it on the surface of potted plants or dissolve it in water when watering your plants. "KOI CLAY" will add minerals lacking in your garden soil and improve the nutrition as well as the flavor of your vegetables. It also improves disease resistance in your plants.
