My 2nd pond 4600 gal

Postby lonzyg on Sat Sep 20, 2008 12:47 am

This is my second pond. My first is only 300 gal. I wanted to share it with others. I am really surprise at how clear it has stayed.

Here is the pond early on. How can I post more than one pic on a post, if allowed?

When I put the water Water hyacinth in from another pond I got about 40+ volunteers. All are doing great! Since then add about 6-5" Koi and 2-12"+ Pacu. I am using a bog that is about 25% of the pond to filter, which has worked great!! No UV filter. The water from the pond is pumped up to the bog then it has a small water fall, down a 34' stream then a fall into the pond. Then the double waterfall. The only time the water was cloudy was after adding the stones to the bog and pond. It cleared over night. I was amazed! The PH shot up, but I let it come down naturally, no additives. Only had algae to start twice, but once it cleared up on it's own. The second time I put GreenClear on the stream and waterfall. No problems since. Here are a couple more pics.
