Very nice!

Do know that hosta will grow in the pond? Simply bare root it and stick the rooted ends in between the rocks.!

I have a set of Herons near my pond too. I once read that statues of herons will keep the real ones away. Another fallacy!

I have the Star of Siam, King of Siam and the Queen of Siam in my pond. And I love them all.

Regards,

Bonnie

PS I fixed your photos because most, myself included, hate to scroll sideways to read or see photos.

Awesome Farprof.....
What a great looking pond and tropical. Love the waterfall!

I don't have the Heron's, I was told that they can draw the real ones to the pond. Who knows, but I'm not chancing it.

I have the (Lance Armstrtong) flamingo's, not much chance of drawing those in.

Joe, the algae that grows on the water fall rocks is another type of algae.

And while koi clay works very well on string algae (among other things that it does) it will not kill the algae on rocks.

I use a scrub brush to keep it off my rocks in the water fall and stream bed.

There is one other way if you can turn your system off for a few hours - sprinkle salt on the rocks the with algae and the sun will help bake it off

Thanks for the kind words. I simply love it, I am often late for work because I have my morning coffee there and can't tear myself away.

I haven't had much brown algae yet, but it is only about 7 weeks old. The waterfall is in the shadiest part as well, under a dogwood, weeping cherry and blue atlas cedar. The birds think it is a water park I put in just for them.
So long and thanks for all the fish!
