I ran across these old pictures and thought I would share them.


We put up a squirrel feeder so that the squirrels would leave the bird feeders alone.



.............Then along comes this silly finch....................




The squirrel feeder has been successful in keeping the squirrels out of the bird feeders and also has kept them from being nuisances and tearing up stuff.

I have tried to give the squirrels some peanuts a few times, but the Blue Jays steal them. The Blue Jays are so mean, but I do have one feisty little Cardinal that keeps them run off.

I just love nature and the balance of things.

I read once that you are not supposed to feed squirrels. Sure, it's cute and love to come and enjoy a snack, but it can actually make them malnurished and die of inadequate nutrition. I never realized this!! I have been feeding birds and squirrels for years. Weird huh?

Cute pictures though. It's funny seeing the squirrel eating out of the bird feeder and the bird eating out of the squirrel feeder!!
