Water Poppy Hydrocleys
nymphoides lily-like-aquatic
Venezuelan Water Poppy. The only
difference is this variety is larger than the regular
Water Poppy
The flowers are 2 to
2-1/2 inches across with red centers.
The foliage is dark
green and glossy and heart-shaped and 2 to 3 inches
across
Lemon yellow,
poppy-like flowers in July, August and September are a
lovely contrast to the glossy green upright leaves.
Can go in the pond up
to 18 inches deep but the plant really prefers a depth
of 6 inches. I have found the Water Poppy does
best just anchoring the roots between the rocks in my
streambed.
